If you're looking for a good value pair of goggles to fit over your glasses, then read on as Alf tests Bolle's Y6 OTG goggles.

PRICE: £45-£84

WHAT THEY SAY: "You don't have to ditch your glasses to wear your goggles. The Y6 OTG goggle slips on right over your glasses for a comfortable fit that keeps you seeing clearly while you take on the mountain. Its medium fit slips securely on over your helmet while its advanced venting technology keeps you and your glasses fog free."

WHAT ALF SAYS: The Modulator Y6 is designed for medium to large faces and there’s the option of Bollé’s well-established and very effective photochromatic ‘Modulator’ lens on the more expensive models. In the case of my test sample it was a ‘Citrus Gun’, a category 1 - 3 orange lens with a silver mirror coating for improved contrast and glare reduction, which it does admirably.

The Y6 also offers an OTG (Over The Glasses) fit and is helmet compatible, but despite allowing room for your glasses it certainly doesn’t look or feel bulky; indeed, I thought the design was pretty sharp. That being said the field of vision wasn’t the widest on test, but it wouldn’t prevent me from using the Y6 on a daily basis.

The double lenses are scratch resistant and have ‘Flow-Tech’ engineered venting to effectively prevent any fog build-up, and the double layer face foam provides a warm and comfortable fit.

The Y6 makes a great value option if you prefer or need to wear glasses whilst you ski, but can equally well be used by non-spectacle wearers with its stylish, understated looks.

FOR: Good option for glasses wearers; great value

AGAINST: Not the widest field of vision, but this wasn’t a problem for me
