WHAT THEY SAY: "Our new Balance goggle delivers on the promise of a classic full frame style packed with modern vision technology. The Balance goggle offers an expanded field of view utilizing EXV Technology, as well as optically correct spherical vision with Lenses By ZEISS. These classy frames offer the perfect balance of style and high-end function in a low-key package. "

WHAT ALF SAYS: The Balance is a neat, full-frame goggle offering excellent peripheral vision thanks to Giro’s ‘EXV’ technology. This stands for ‘Expansion View’ and aims to provide the widest possible field of view, particularly with thicker frame lenses, whilst at the same time making the goggles compatible with all Giro helmets.

In this Giro seem to have been pretty successful – the medium- sized model I reviewed actually felt slightly too small for my face yet I still had excellent peripheral vision, as good as that on a large pair of goggles in fact. The Balance’s Zeiss lenses also offer optically correct spherical vision, so clarity is first rate.

The Balance also features effective all round venting and an anti-fog coating, along with soft triple-layer face foam, making for a really good option, especially for small to medium faces, and at a pretty reasonable price too.

FOR: Excellent field of vision; great for smaller faces

AGAINST: Very little
