WEBSITE: Icebreaker Bodyfit Oasis 200 Leggings

WHAT THEY SAY: "The men's Oasis Leggings make cool weather sports better, day after day. Crafted from ultra soft, breathable 200gm merino jersey, they provide enough warmth under a pant for really cold days in winter sports, but breathe well enough for morning runs in the fall or hiking high in the mountains. Flatlock seams and a brushed waistband eliminate chaffing, and because merino resists odor naturally, they are ideal for multi-day adventures."

WHAT ALF SAYS: The 100 per cent pure merino wool with which these leggings are made feels absolutely great against your skin – warm when it’s cold, cool when it’s warm – and the 200 refers to a weight which will keep you comfortable from ‘warm’ through to ‘cool’ conditions (go for 260 if you feel the cold or will be skiing in very cold weather).

As you’ll know merino has all the magic properties you need in a base layer. It regulates temperature, wicks moisture, ‘breathes’ and resists odor. Add to that a very comfortable fit, flatlock seams to prevent chafing, snug elasticated waist, and a fly (in the men’s version) and although pricey, the Oasis leggings are definitely worth checking out.

FOR: Great fit, do the job

AGAINST: Not the cheapest leggings around
