Snow Finel wins it for the Brits, in Alf's opinion - The new Snow Finel thermal jumper comes up trumps in Alf's latest review.

PRICE: £85

WEBSITE: Snow Finel Thermal Jumper

WHAT THEY SAY: "Luxury merino wool thermal, feature logo."

WHAT ALF SAYS: Snow Finel is a British company that you may not have heard of before who make high quality ski jumpers, in this case a lightweight mid-layer composed of 95% merino and 5% cashmere and featuring a bright orange zip and logo which makes it stand out from the crowd (more subdued colours are also available for the zip and logo).

£85 is quite expensive for a mid-layer (although by no means at the top end of the price range) but there again you get a luxuriously soft and stretchy woollen jumper that feels lovely against your skin. It also comes with practical features like thumb loops and long cuffs that are actually quite effective in keeping your hands warm, a long hem which will help to stop you from freezing on cold chairlifts and, of course, the chest zip which helps with temperature regulation.

I also like the fact that Snow Finel’s products are both designed and manufactured in the UK. Indeed, the only slight criticism I had of the mid-layer that I tested was that I’d have liked the collar to be a little higher, but that’s quite a personal thing. Other than that, the Snow Finel Thermal Jumper is a lovely mid-layer that’s a delight to wear.

FOR: British design and manufacture; feels great

AGAINST: We’d like a slightly higher collar
