Alf Alderson talks us through Helly Hansen's stylish new glove offering

Helly Hansen Rogue RRP £60

The Rogue is a good budget option, especially for skiing when it’s not too cold as they’re not as well insulated as some of the other gloves we’ve reviewed. The upside is that they have a lower profile which means your hands feel less confined in them.

The shell and palm consist of premium water repellent goat skin leather, which is combined with a ‘Helly Tech’ waterproof and breathable insert and 3M Thinsulate 40g insulation (this refers to the weight of the insulation; the higher the figure the greater the weight but the better the insulation; 40g is at the lower end of the scale). Add to this the Rogue’s anti-pilling polyester micro fleece lining and they make a good option for spring skiing.

A stretchy, Velcro-style cuff retains the low profile (which means you’ll need to wear them under your jacket cuffs), and understated but quite stylish looks round off a very decent pair of ski gloves.

FOR Low profile, low bulk design
AGAINST Not as warm as some

Helly Hansen say:

These functional gloves provide maximum dexterity. Low profile design and high element function with waterproof Helly Tech® and 3M™ Thinsulate™ provide maximum dexterity in this glove.
