How does the Bern Heist helmet fare in our review? Find out here

Bern Heist helmet RRP £129.99

Bern claim the Heist, which comes in men’s and women’s fits, is the lightest dual shell helmet on the market, despite the fact that one of the many protection features is aluminium ‘Impact Armor’ on the rear and temples. Protection is also offered in the form of an in-mould PVC lower shell, ‘Energy Absorbing Ribs’ and an ABS top plate to reinforce the top vents against intrusions (talking of vents, there are 16 in total).

The Heist also features Bern’s ‘Zip Mold’ technology - this consists of a PVC micro-shell lined with liquid injected foam that provides a better weight to strength ratio than standard EPS foam, so for the price you get a lot of good safety features with this helmet.
It also features a hand-sewn seamless microfleece ‘Luxe Liner’ with a Boa 360-degree Fit System for warmth and comfort; that said, the ear pads are not removable and the vents are not adjustable, so you could get pretty warm in the Heist.

FOR Good range of safety features; good price

AGAINST Non-adjustable vents; ear pads not removable.

Bern say:

The Heist Brim is a game changer, with safety features like no other. The innovative Dual Shell Integration (DSI) construction combines the lightweight properties of our Zipmold+ and PVC lower shell, with the durability of an ABS top shell. The ABS shell covers a liner that uses Energy Absorbing Ribs (EAR), providing greater impact dispersion. We’ve added Aluminum Shields for better durability and a killer aesthetic. Overall the Heist Brim delivers optimal ventilation, comfort and lightweight performance that skiers and riders alike need to stay out there until the very last chair
