We put the Arc'teryx FL Rush pants through their paces in our latest review
The Rush FL is designed for ski touring and features a tactile, durable softshell ‘Aequora’ fabric. The material feels good next to the skin at the same time as being air permeable and weather resistant.
These pants are never likely to fall down since they come with removable braces, an integrated belt, belt loops for a second belt and a double popper waist fastening. The slim fit is classic ski touring style (which won’t appeal to everyone) although thanks to the four-way stretch of the fabric, it doesn’t restrict freedom of movement.
You only get two zippered cargo pockets on the Rush FL but who wants to be carrying a load of stuff in pockets when they’re touring? There are zippered side vents along with bomb-proof Keprotec inserts to reduce damage from ski edges. Arc’teryx’s ‘TouringCuff’ allows you to access your boot buckles at the same time as keeping snow out.
The whole lot is rounded off with zippered gussets to allow for different volumes of ski boots. All in all the Rush FL makes a great option for committed ski tourers – and not even a very pricey one at that given that it’s Arc’teryx.
FOR Comfy, well-specced and not too pricey.
AGAINST Slim cut and the small number of pockets won’t appeal to everyone.
