The Haute Route S is a thirty-litre ski touring backpack designed specifically for women.
The pack weighs in at a very reasonable 1320g and has a shorter back system along with hip and shoulder straps adapted to the female physique (it will apparently work fine for men with short backs too).
You also get the Ortovox ‘O-Flex’ back system, which was developed in co-operation with medical professionals and sees the weight of the load distributed evenly between the shoulders and hips, easing the burden on your muscles.
The rucksack design is really well-thought out, with expansive rear access to the main compartment through huge zips so you can easily access anything in it, whilst there’s a zippered front compartment for your avalanche gear.
Two additional large, zippered outer pockets allow easy storage of kit you may need whilst on the move, and there are both ‘A-fix’ and ‘D-fix’ ski fastening options, ice axe, walking pole and rope attachments and a fixed helmet net as well as storage space for crampons.
The Haute Route S is also a really nice-looking pack, and for anyone looking for a daypack without an airbag system it’s hard to beat – especially if you’re a woman.
FOR Women-specific fit, great design, all the essential features.
