This year at the Ski and Snowboard Festival you are invited to come along to our stand and have a chat with three elite athletes

Chemmy Alcott

2pm on Saturday and Sunday

If you want to know what it takes to be an Olympian, former World Cup alpine ski racer and Honorary President of The Ski Club, Chemmy Alcott, will be at our stand (613) over the weekend. Chemmy competed in four Olympics and finished 8th in a World Cup at the height of her career. She was 7x British National Overall Champion and the only British female skier to ever win a run in a World Cup.

She has now retired from competing but you might have spotted her presenting BBC Ski Sunday or commentating on the World Cup Ski Series. This year, she also commentated for the BBC during the Winter Olympics, drawing on her experience as an athlete to provide unique insights during the games.

She will be happy to answer any questions you may have about her journey in competitive skiing, so don’t miss your chance to chat, and catch her at the stand this weekend.

Jasmine Taylor

11.30am on Friday

Jasmine Taylor started training as an athlete at the age of 12, joining the British Ski Academy to compete as an alpine skier. After becoming the youngest British Ski Cross Champion ever, she made the England Freestyle Ski Team in 2009. It was during this time Jaz started telemark skiing, and went on to  compete in 2011 at her first World Junior Championship.
She has since become the first British athlete to win a World Championship medal in telemark skiing, achieving four World Cup victories across all three disciplines. She is 5-time British Champion and finished 2nd in the Parallel Sprint and 3rd in the Classic overall World Cup 2017/18 standings.
She is currently training for the World Cup season and the 2019 World Championships, so if you want some tips about trying telemark or getting in shape ahead of the season, come and chat to her at our stand.

Jasper Taylor

Jasper Taylor started skiing at the age of three and became a young junior medalist at the British Schoolboys ski races. After starting in alpine he took up telemark and attended three of the 2014 British Indoor telemark Series races. In 2015, he became the U21 British Championship in 2015 at Raruis.
