Social media has now become a large part of how athletes interact with fans and promote their sport.

From brand posts to viral videos, the amount of content produced by sports stars has increased hugely in recent years. This is no different with snowsport personalities, from live Q&As to YouTube series, the best skiers and snowboarders in the world are sharing their lives to the world.

Andri Ragettli 

A viral sensation for the Facebook clip of his insane gym routine in a Real Madrid/Juventus Cristiano Ronaldo football shirt, Andri Ragetti is guaranteed to put a smile on your face with is innovative tricks that he shares online. Ragettli was a slopestyle bronze medallist at the last Winter X games. The 20-year-old is on every major social media channel and has his own YouTube channel.

The new queen of ski racing has had a love-hate relationship with social media in the past but has now certainly embraced it. Mikaela Shiffrin regularly does live Q&As with her fans and loves a funny face filter on Instagram stories. Her quirky humour shows another side to an otherwise extremely focussed athlete persona.

Warner Nickerson 


Former US world cup skier turned YouTube vlogger, Warner Nickerson’s enthusiasm for skiing is infectious. Whether he’s on an off piste adventure or behind the scenes at a World Cup race, Nickerson’s content is a real treat for those who love skiing. There are lots of guest appearances from other snowsport stars in his videos too!

Aimee Fuller 


GB Snowsport snowboarder, Aimee Fuller, has built herself a great audience through social media over the years. How can we forget her legendary guest commentating experience when Jenny Jones won bronze in Sochi! Fuller now has her own YouTube series called ‘Aimee’s “Fuller Life’, where we get an insight into what it takes to be a top snowboarder and some fun interviews too.

James ‘Woodsy’ Woods 


James Woods, better known as Woodsy, is Britain’s top slopestyle skier with World Cup and X Games wins to his name. The man from Sheffield has a series called “Woodsy’s World” on YouTube which showcases his training and behind the scene banter at major competitions.

Lindsey Vonn 


Lindsey Vonn is the most successful female alpine skier of all time. She regularly shares posts on Instagram of her exhausting work out routines, epic racing shots and of course her best friend Lucy (her little dog she takes on tour). Vonn has recently launched her own Youtube channel called Lindsey Vonn TV.

Jon Olsson


One of freestyle skiing’s all-time greats is still living life to the full after his professional ski retirement. Follow Jon Olsson’s extravagant and action-packed life where he travels the world in the most “overkill” way. Just when you think he reaches the limit, Olsson pushes the boundary of what’s shown on YouTube regularly.

Laurie Taylor 


Laurie Taylor is Britain’s number two in slalom skiing and regularly trains with Dave Ryding during the World Cup tour. Off the slopes, Taylor is a fantastic video editor and regularly uploads behind-the-scene vlogs of his training and major international races. A great insight into what it takes to start off on the World Cup.
