Snow-sure slopes, varied terrain and a plethora of on- and off-piste fun make Zillertal the perfect ski destination for all.

An Unrivalled Ski Experience

A stone’s throw from Innsbruck, Zillertal in Tirol is a 42km-long valley, flanked by magnificent 3,000 metre high mountains, and boasts some of the very best skiing in Austria. The area’s diverse terrain, natural abundance of pure powder snow and top-notch facilities create a premium winter sports experience.

180 lifts float winter sports enthusiasts in comfort and style to the top of the pretty peaks - the starting points for many a heady snow-filled adventure. Conquer a slice of over 530 kilometres of pristine pistes which sprawl out over four diverse ski areas.  There’s something for everyone here, from gentle carving slopes to long sporty valley runs and challenging routes for the real pro. That’s without mentioning the Hintertux Glacier; Austria’s only year-round ski resort ensures that every level of skier and snowboarder is more than catered for with its reliable natural snow-sure conditions even in the summer.

Anybody looking to veer off-piste and get an adrenaline fix will be delighted by seven fun parks and several easily accessible freeride routes.  Early birds can enjoy the pleasure of carving the first tracks in the untouched snow, followed by a hearty breakfast during The Early Morning Skiing experience. Night owls can descend the snow-covered Stephan-Eberharter-Goldpiste when the sun goes down, or indulge in the Moonlight Skiing and Dinner experience in the Zillertal Arena.

Oh, and did we mention that your ski boots are pre-heated in the depots overnight? You certainly won’t get cold feet during your ski holiday in Zillertal.

A Home from Home

While away the hours in between your time on the slopes in one of around 80 authentic mountain huts, fuelling up on a delicious fare, nursing a spicy hot Glühwein whilst chatting to kindly locals. From gnarled wooden beams, cosy log fires and locally sourced delicious organic fare to panoramic mountain terraces, snazzy modern design and haute cuisine, you’ll find everything to suit your tastes amongst the area’s establishments. Expect crisp locally brewed beer, heart-warming music – whether it’s cheesy pop or DJ sounds - and a warm jolly welcome when celebrating a successful day of skiing in Zillertal’s legendary après-ski scene.

Take a leisurely winter hike in the crisp glistening snow far away from the hustle and bustle of the slopes and explore the magical winter landscape with its sparkling ice crystals hanging from snow-covered fir branches on over 400km of cleared winter hiking trails. In the evening, indulge in hours of r relaxation in a sauna before returning to the friendly hosts at your accommodation. Moments like these stay with you long after your holiday has finished and you will want to keep returning time after time.
