The Ski Club is excited to announce a new programme of holidays designed specifically for younger skiers and snowboarders, called New Horizons

The trips follow the same winning recipe as Freshtracks holidays which have enjoyed decades of success. Take a group of skiers or snowboarders of the same ability, add them to a world-class resort with top instruction, sprinkle a dusting of après ski then leave for a few days and watch ski standards skyrocket.

The new programme covers five countries and invites skiers and snowboarders to enhance their skills both on and off piste, on instructional courses for solo travellers, couples or groups. Each trip lasts between five and seven days and the majority include instruction with a professional or mountain guide.

On piste, we are heading to Pila where skiers will work on their technique with the glow of pizza at the end of the tunnel each day. We will also be visiting Ski Club favourite, Les Arcs, where the iconic tree runs draw visitors back year on year. This trip is low carbon and invites travellers to journey to the Alps by train, which uses an estimated 12KG of CO2 compared to 112kg by plane, according to 2011 research by Best Foot Forward.

If you’d rather veer off piste, we will be exploring Val d D’Isere on our off piste adventure where five days of guiding will take skiers past the confines of runs and out into the backcountry. And if you have always been intrigued by the world of ski-touring, we are launching an introduction to touring trip in the freeride mecca of Chamonix. Where the lifts stop, travellers will discover the iconic chutes and couloirs which give this unique location its identity as off piste paradise.

Further afield, we will be chasing powder across the world in none other than Japan (aka Japow!) Spend seven days amongst the deepest and lightest powder in the world with two days of guiding to showcase the best snow that Hakuba has to offer. This trip runs parallel to Snow Machine festival which skiers have the option of attending if their legs aren’t too tired from exploring the legendary backcountry. The journey will include travel a bullet train and visiting a monkey park – this is one for the bucket list.

For adrenaline junkies, New Horizons invites intrepid skiers to combine skiing with mountain biking in the Swiss Alps, on our high octane Pischa Mountain Adventure weekend. Along with exploring the resorts of Davos-Klosters, you will have the opportunity to try airboarding (body boarding on snow), fat biking, backcountry snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

And finally, if all of that sounds a bit hectic, the programme also has something for the more relaxed skier pace. Our Mayrhofen trip is simply a holiday for skiers who share a similar ability, to one of the best resorts for terrain (and après) in the world.

Each trip will benefit from a Ski Club Rep with in-depth knowledge of the resort to ensure you get the best from the experience. With New Horizons, the Ski Club wants to welcome the next generation of skiers and snowboarders into its thriving community, and we look forward to having you on board.
