Even the Swiss only get one winter a year, of course.
However, with everything this picturesque winter wonderland has to offer, it sure feels like several packed into one.
The classic one
With 335 ski resorts, 7.105 kilometers of slopes and 1.827 ski lifts, this little country is a big player when it comes to winter sports of any kind. It comes as no surprise that the Swiss people are a nation of ski racers and very passionate about it. You’ll find pretty much every kind of skiing and snowboarding in Switzerland: from freeriding to slopestyle, alpine to telemark or cross-country-skiing, there’s plenty of winter sports to choose from!
The cozy one
After a long and fun day in the powder, night sledding or just a short stroll through the breath-taking landscape, Swiss specialities like ‘Fondue’ or ‘Raclette’ will heat you up in no time. Enjoy your dinner in a cozy mountain hut, get to know the locals at their loveable pastime tradition of après-ski or just enjoy some wellness and dip into a hot spring – whatever you prefer.
The famous one
Make your Instagram friends jealous by flipping your skis right in front of one of the most famous mountains: the Matterhorn. Show off with pictures from you riding on the glacier ride. Not to be mistaken for the iconic ‘Glacier Express’ – the panoramic train that takes you through mystical valleys and to the source of the Rhine river. That’s a lot of likes right there!
