Ski Club Treasure Hunt
Can you find our Ski Club member characters at our partner’s stands? Throughout the long weekend we’ll be giving out flyers showcasing all of our discount partners that are at the Festival. On the back of the flyers are 6 different Ski Club member characters. You’ll need to hunt down these different characters by visiting our partner stands and when you do so, jot down the stand number on the back of the flyer.
Once you’ve collected all 6 member characters you’ll need to drop your flyer back at our Ski Club stand to receive a small prize and also to be entered into a much larger prize draw to win a bundle of goodies supplier by our partners!
The Ski Club’s Mountain Safety Team, led by Bruce Goodlad and Owen Chapman, will once again be on the snow at the foot of Mount Battersea to serve up fantastic transceiver training sessions throughout the festival.
They’ll get you familiarised with one of the vital pieces of backcountry safety kit and teach you how to use it, getting you digging up the snow specially shipped in for the event. Check out the official event website for booking details – but you’ll need to get there fast as there are very few slots left!
Owen and Bruce will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have on the new Mountain Safety programme.
Pre-season Fitness with Chemmy Alcott
Our Honorary President and multiple Olympian Chemmy Alcott will be presenting one of the most interactive and engaging talks of the show in the Lodge on Saturday 26th October between 11:15-12:00.
Following the birth of her baby boy in January, Chemmy decided to make a big physical transformation, losing 12kg in just 3 months whilst improving both her fitness and also relieving joint pain. Chemmy set herself two goals prior to starting the transformation – the first was to get back to race her race weight and the second was to get back to being ‘race fit’ for the Inferno downhill in January 2020.
Her session will demonstrate how she achieved this and will offer you the opportunity to get up on stage to get stuck into the demonstrations. Alongside the demos, she will share information on nutrition and injury prevention. At the end of the session there will be a short Q&A and you’ll be given a leaflet of the exercises demonstrated during the session to take away with you.
Disclosure: Please note Chemmy is not a qualifies PT or nutritionist, these will her own tips from personal experience.
