If you are considering a trip to Italy during the winter,
make sure you are covered whilst on the slopes!
With effect from 1st January 2022, anyone who
wishes to ski in Italy will need to comply with new regulations that require
all skiers take out insurance in order to be able to pay for any damage caused
to third parties. The penalty for failure to do so will be from €100 to €150,
in addition to the withdrawal of your ski pass. The rules came into force last
spring, after the approval of Decree 40 of 2021, but take effect from the
beginning of 2022.
The obligations apply not just to skiing, but also to
snowboarding, sledding, telemark and all snow sports practices.
Not only do all of our Ski Club Travel Insurance products
provide comprehensive medical cover, but they also provide liability insurance
up to £2,000,000 for any legal expenses and legal liability for injury you
cause to a person who is not a member of your family, household or employed by
you. There is also further cover for any damages caused to any property, which
does not belong to you and is not in your control. Full terms and conditions
can be found within the policy wording.
This applies to the insurance provided as pat of Platinum Membership as well, meaning great value exceptional cover, on piste and off, is available in combination with your membership for the year.
