One of the ‘Huntly XC Mafia’ Andrew has was raised with Nordic skiing in the family, and is looking for a good result in his second Olympics after withdrawing in 2014.

With most of his family involved in training Cross Country skiers or racing themselves, the path to being an elite Nordic athlete was set out from a young age for Andrew. In 2008 he became the youngest skier to compete at World Cup level, a year later finishing 14th in the 4x10km Relay. His best achievement to date is a World Cup podium in the sprint at Toblach 2015. His progress has not been without setbacks though - a heart condition called Tachycardia occasionally flares up, most dramatically during the team sprint at Sochi 2014, causing Young and his partner Musgrave to withdraw in the middle of the semi-finals. Young will be hoping for a second chance at Sprint glory in 2018.
