Ranked 2nd in the World Cup standings ahead of the first Olympic Big Air competition, Ormerod is one of GB’s best hopes for a snowsports medal.

  • Discipline(s): Snowboard Park & Pipe
  • D.O.B: 25/08/97
  • Hometown: Brighouse

With a British first, winning the World Cup Big Air in Moscow at the start of 2017 and a bronze medal at the X Games the season was going well for Katie until a training crash took her out of competition with a broken back. Having missed out on the Sochi games due to a knee injury, 20-year-old Ormerod will be motivated to stay injury free in 2018 with the introduction of the Big Air event, a discipline in which Katie ranked 2nd in the World Cup last season. As well as Big Air she hopes to emulate Jenny Jones’ success in Sochi by bringing home another slopestyle medal.

Update: Sadly, it was confirmed on 8 February that Katie has had to withdraw from the games after fracturing her heel in training.
