ON SNOW EXPERIENCE
This trip includes six days with mountain guides. You’ll be split into groups of 6/7 based on your ski profile. This trip is aimed at Intermediate (Silver) and Advanced (Purple) off piste skiers. If you are unsure of your ski level, please see our Ski Profile Page. At the end of the week, you will receive an updated grading from your Guide or Ski Club Rep.
Please be aware that you may be required to do some ski touring on this off piste holiday. Where possible the lift system will be used to access off piste terrain, however if you need to venture a bit further afield in order to access the best off piste conditions, then your guide may suggest ski touring. This will all be dependent upon conditions and the guides you have on your trip. If you are part of a large Freshtracks trip, with multiple groups, then there may be the opportunity for one group not to participate in any ski touring for the duration of the trip. If this is the case, please inform your Ski Club rep at the beginning of the trip, and they can assign groups accordingly. Please note that you will not require any prior ski touring experience to participate in this trip.
The 3* Sporthotel Sonne is a simple yet comfortable, family run hotel, perfectly located in Andermatt, just metres from the Gemsstock Cable Car. You’ll be catered for on a half board basis (breakfast and dinner) throughout your stay.
This holiday is on a twin share basis. If you are a solo traveler, then you will be placed in a room with someone of the same gender. Single rooms may be available upon request. These are subject to our hotel room allowance. If you require a single room, please book early to avoid disappointment.
This holiday includes a return Swiss Railways ticket from Zurich airport to Andermatt. You will need to book your own flights, with Zurich airport providing the easiest option. However, please do not book your flights until this holiday has been confirmed to run. Once the holiday has been confirmed, please send your flight details (flight numbers, arrival and departure time) to the Freshtracks Team via email to email@example.com
Set in the Urseren Valley, Andermatt is an attractive Swiss village with charming wooden houses and traditional churches lining the main street. Andermatt has effectively doubled in size in recent years thanks to a huge influx of development that has revitalized the resort. The Ski Arena Andermatt-Sedrun project delivered a flood of luxury hotels and apartments, as well as six new lifts linking the resort to Sedrun. This in turn makes the connected ski area the largest in central Switzerland and adds further terrain to what was already a fantastic ski area. For more information on Andermatt please visit the Andermatt Resort Guide.
For ski hire we recommend Alpina Sport just across from the hotel, they open at 8.00am in the morning. If you want to get in contact with them prior to arrival to check availability please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you own your own ski touring equipment, then it may be worth taking this with you on your trip. If you do not own your own kit, then this can normally be easily rented in resort. However, please be aware of the cost of hiring this equipment in resort.
