ON SNOW EXPERIENCE
You’ll spend six full days exploring the area with your group and Ski Club Rep – ski groups will be split by ski profile. This trip is aimed at Intermediate (Red) and Advanced Intermediate (Silver) on piste skiers. If you are unsure of your ski level, please see our Ski Profile Page. At the end of the week, you will receive an updated grading from your Ski Club Rep.
At the end of each day, ski straight back to the Sporthotel Alpin 4* conveniently located at the foot of the slopes and a three minute stroll to the resort centre. You’ll be staying in single rooms with 7 nights of half board. The hotel was recently renovated in 2016, with all rooms now offering a balcony and seating area alongside free wifi. The spa facilities include an indoor pool, two saunas and a steam room. Evening meals are a six course feast including a local cheese selection.
This holiday includes both your flights and transfers. The flights are with British Airways departing from London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. Ski carriage is payable at the airport only and cannot be pre-booked. Your Ski Club Rep will coordinate the coach transfer from Salzburg airport, so please look out for them in the main arrivals hall; they will be wearing their blue Ski Club jacket. The transfer will take roughly one and a half hours.
If these arrangements are not convenient you may be eligible to organise your own travel and receive a nominal discount from the holiday cost. If you can find alternative flights that coincide with our flight times then you may be able to meet the group at Salzburg airport and take our transfers to resort. Please contact the Freshtracks office on 020 8410 2022 in order to discuss this further.
Zell am See has a great reputation for its alpine charm with a modern skiing twist. It’s location near the picturesque local Lake Zell and the historic architecture makes it the perfect base for admiring the view when you’re not skiing too! Nearby Kaprun and Saalbach are only a bus ride away so there’s plenty of ski area to explore outside of Zell am See too.
The dominating mountain of Schmittenhohe overlooks the village and offers stunning views of a cluster of towering mountains surrounding the area. This, combined with great off slope activities and après, makes it a great destination for a mix of tourists that visit the Austrian resort. For more information about Zell am See, please visit the Zell am See Resort Guide.
If you require equipment hire, there is a Skiset shop (Treffpunkt Eurosport) ideally located a 7 minute walk away from your hotel. You can pre-book via Skiset through the Ski Club website. Once you are logged into our website, please go to the discount section and search for “Skiset” then choose Zell am See, and then ‘Treffpunkt Eurosport’.
