Spain conjures up images of sun and sea for many people, but perhaps we should start thinking of sun and ski, because the lesser-known Spanish Pyrenees are full of exciting off piste opportunities. The sophisticated resort of Baqueira Beret comes with a regal recommendation, as the Spanish royal family have been known to favour its slopes.

If you’d like to fill your holiday with challenging backcountry exploration, amazing tree runs and sample some après tapas bars, then Baqueira is the perfect destination. We are running a weekend trip so there’s no need to miss out on this fantastic resort.

Holiday price includes: 4 nights half board, 4* hotel, twin share, return scheduled flights, coach transfers, three days mountain guides, Ski Club Leader
Lift price information: 3 day adult approx. €139.50

ON SNOW EXPERIENCE

Baqueira is a great destination for a weekend with its proximity to Toulouse and over three days with mountain guides you'll make the most of your time on snow. With 152km of groomed runs and exciting off piste opportunities, strong skiers and off piste beginners will find plenty to enjoy and test. More exhilarating terrain can be found in steep couloirs such as Escornacrabes which loosely translates as ‘where goats tumble’. The slopes are split into three distinct but well-connected areas - Baqueira, Beret and Bonaigua - with long, intermediate runs, practically all of them on open, treeless slopes, most above 1800m

RESORT

The resort is situated on the Bonaigua Pass in the Val d’Aran, and has been treated to excellent snow cover in recent winters.

Baqueira is a mainly modern development with its fair share of somewhat uninspiring blocks in the central area, clustered below the road that runs through to the high pass of Port de la Bonaigua, with the main lift base just above it.

ACCOMMODATION

The Hotel Val de Ruda offers a charming mix of modern architecture and traditional interiors. The location is fantastic, only a stones throw from the slopes. Each room offers fantastic views of the slopes, with wifi available throughout the hotel. The charming wood panelled restaurant serves a mix of traditional and healthy Mediterranean cuisine, while breakfast is on a buffet basis. After your days skiing, you can either enjoy the excellent spa facilities, or simply relax by the real fire.
