Engelberg is so vast and offers such excellent terrain that you not only need a mountain guide for safety reasons but also in order to experience the best runs. Your mountain guides are incredibly experienced in Engelberg and know where to find the best powder on any given day. With this trip you have these guides for the full six days to make sure you get to experience as much of Engelberg as possible.

During your week in Engelberg, your hotel can be found just a short walk from the main cable car. Your trip will include six full days off piste with a local mountain guides. There may be some skinning so a good level of fitness is required.

The resort was named after the 12th-century Benedictine monastery (Engelberg means the mountain of the angel) that dominates the town as you look down from the lifts.

The resort offers just over 80km of pistes served by 27 lifts, the majority of which sit on the Titlis mountain much of which sit above 1800m. However, the majority of the face has been left unpisted, creating a freeriders paradise, with a huge range of lift accessible off piste terrain. Snowcover is excellent thanks to the altitude, orientation and a season that lasts from October through to late May.

Engelberg has been featured in many ski movies because of its excellent off piste terrain that doesn't need a helicopter to reach. In the town, the bars make up for their small size by having an excellent après scene.

The Hotel Terrace can be seen from the whole resort, situated on the large hill overlooking the village. It is not only seen by everyone, but has the most impressive mountain panorama views due to its elevation and you will hear nothing of the high street below as you sleep.

The hotel itself is spacious with big oak doors and with your half board basis, you’ll never go hungry. The hotel itself can be accessed easily by a lift from the main square so no trudging up hills in your ski boots. The resort is best accessed by train from Zurich and the hotel lift is a short walkable distance from the main station.
