ON SNOW EXPERIENCE
This trip includes six full days with Mountain Guides. You’ll be split into groups of 7/8 based on your ski profile. This trip is aimed at Advanced (Purple) and Expert (Gold) off piste skiers. If you are unsure of your ski level, please see our Ski Profile Page. At the end of the week, you will receive an updated grading from your Instructor or Ski Club Rep.
The main lifts into the ski area are clustered around Stafal at the head of the valley, but there is a chairlift on the edge of Gressoney La Trinité itself. Even further down the valley in the other direction is Gressoney St Jean, which has its own small area of slopes.
You'll be staying at the friendly, family run 3* Hotel Dufour. The rooms have all been recently renovated and refurbished and you will be staying in twin share accommodation on a half board basis. Situated only 50m from the chairlifts, it provides both great access to the slopes as well as fantastic views across the mountain. In the evenings you have access to both spa facilities with a whirlpool and sauna, as well as the snug lounge with games room.
This holiday includes both your flights and transfers. Ski carriage is payable at the airport only and cannot be pre-booked. Your Ski Club Rep will coordinate the coach transfer from the arrivals airport, so please look out for them in the main arrivals hall - they will be wearing their blue Ski Club jacket. The transfer will take between one and a half and two hours. If these arrangements are not convenient you may be eligible to organise your own travel and receive a nominal discount from the holiday cost. If you can find alternative flights that coincide with our flight times then you may be able to meet the group at the arrival airport and take our transfer to resort. Please contact the Freshtracks office on 02084102022 in order to discuss this further.
The Monterosa ski area is nestled in the heart of the Italian Alps and is made up of the three principal resorts of Alagna, Gressoney and Champoluc. Gressoney is a traditional, neat little village, with cobbled streets and wooden buildings and is widely considered one of the most scenic in the Aosta valley. It's even quieter than Champoluc, and rather more attractive. It is not commonly featured by UK tour operators, making it more likely the area will retain its unique character. For more information, please head to the Gressoney Resort Guide.
If you require ski hire, there is a SkiSet shop in Gressoney but it is not conveniently located for the hotel. David Sport, located opposite the hotel, is not officially affiliated with the Ski Club but traditionally offers our members a 10% discount.
