Test your off piste prowess with five days guiding across some of Chamonix's famous slopes. It’s an area that’s impossible to get bored of, with new challenges each day from powder bowls to demanding couloirs and impressive glacial routes in dramatic scenery.
ON SNOW EXPERIENCE
This trip includes six days with mountain guides. You’ll be split into groups of 6/7 based on your ski profile. This trip is aimed at Intermediate (Silver) and Advanced (Purple) off piste skiers. If you are unsure of your ski level, please see our Ski Profile Page. At the end of the week, you will receive an updated grading from your Guide or Ski Club Rep.
Please be aware that you may be required to do some ski touring on this off piste holiday. Where possible the lift system will be used to access off piste terrain, however if you need to venture a bit further afield in order to access the best off piste conditions, then your guide may suggest ski touring. This will all be dependent upon conditions and the guides you have on your trip. If you are part of a large Freshtracks trip, with multiple groups, then there may be the opportunity for one group not to participate in any ski touring for the duration of the trip. If this is the case, please inform your Ski Club rep at the beginning of the trip, and they can assign groups accordingly. Please note that you will not require any prior ski touring experience to participate in this trip.
We have a new hotel base for our Chamonix programme this season, La Chaumiere Lodge. Perfectly situated in the heart of Chamonix, just a 10-minute walk from the town centre, you will have easy access to everything that Chamonix has to offer. For the duration of the trip you will also have a minibus available to take the group to any of the different Chamonix valley ski areas, or even over the border to Courmayeur in Italy! You will be staying at La Chaumiere Lodge on a half board basis, which includes a generous buffet breakfast and three course dinner.
This holiday is on a twin share basis. If you are a solo traveler, then you will be placed in a room with someone of the same gender. Single rooms may be available upon request. These are subject to our hotel room allowance. If you require a single room, please book early to avoid disappointment.
Travel is not included on this holiday in order to allow you to choose the most convenient travel arrangements. We would recommend arriving in resort no later than 18:30, as your rep will be conducting a welcome meeting on the first evening before dinner.
Please do not book your flights or transfers until this holiday has been confirmed to run. Once the holiday has been confirmed, please send your flight details (flight numbers, arrival and departure time) to the Freshtracks Team via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
The Chamonix lift system consists of several distinct and very different ski areas high above a steep-sided valley where the town and its villages are located. From one day to the next you can explore the resort’s five different ski areas. And if that isn’t enough, the Chamonix Mont Blanc lift pass extends over to Courmayeur and even Verbier! Accessing all these different areas could prove a challenge if it wasn’t for our minibus which will ferry you around. Fortunately it means there is no need to check bus times and walk to and from stops and lifts - we’ll collect you from the hotel door and take you straight to whichever area you’re skiing that day! For more information on Chamonix, please visit the Chamonix Resort Page.
If you require ski hire, we recommend the Concept Pro Shop Chamonix. This is located behind the Aiguille du Midi cable car. They offer a 10% discount to ski club members and have a great array of equipment. Your rep will help you with this upon arrival in resort.
