ON SNOW EXPERIENCE
After a day getting your ski legs ready, you’ll then spend five full days skiing with mountain guides who will pick the best ski area for the snow and weather conditions each morning. It could be a trip through the Mont Blanc tunnel to exhilarating itineraries in Courmayeur or more locally dramatic glacial runs on the Grands Montets. Bruce Goodlad will be one of the mountain guides on this holiday. As the Ski Club's Alpine Safety Advisor, he's the perfect guide to show everything that the Chamonix valley has to offer! Groups will be organised based on ski level, with this trip aimed at Advanced (Purple) and Expert (Gold) off piste skiers. If you are unsure of your level please see our Ski Profile Page. At the end of the week you will receive an updated grading from your instructor or Ski Club Rep.
The Chamonix lift system consists of several distinct and very different ski areas high above a steep-sided valley where the town and its villages are located. From one day to the next you can explore the resort’s different ski areas: Brévent & Flégère, Les Grands Montets, Le Tour & Vallorcine (Domaine de Balme), L'Aiguille du Midi/La Vallée Blanche and Les Houches. And if that isn’t enough, the Chamonix MontBlanc lift pass extends over to Courmayeur and even Verbier! Accessing all these different areas could prove a challenge if it wasn’t for our minibus which will ferry you around. Fortunately it means there is no need to check bus times and walk to and from stops and lifts - we’ll collect you from the chalet door and take you straight to whichever area you’re skiing that day! For more information on Chamonix, please visit the Chamonix Resort Page.
The best shop to hire from is the Concept Pro Shop Chamonix, which is located behind the Aiguille du Midi. They offer a 10% discount to our members and have a great selection of equipment.
