On this Peak Experience trip, spend a week with your off piste instructors who will show you the best that Flaine has to offer whilst staying in the comfort of Chalet Freshtracks. The instructor team have been skiing here off piste every day each winter for years and know exactly where to find the best snow. This is a very rewarding and exciting trip that will see you shooting through tree runs, bowling through couloirs and flying down open powder fields.
ON SNOW EXPERIENCE
You will start the week with an exploratory warm-up day to get your ski legs working again. Following this are five full days of tuition from some of the best instructors in the Alps, who aim to teach, guide, improve and entertain you!
You’ll be split into groups of 6/7 based on your ski profile. This trip is aimed at Intermediate (Silver) and Advanced (Purple) off piste skiers. If you are unsure of your ski level, please see our Ski Profile Page. At the end of the week, you will receive an updated grading from your instructor or Ski Club Rep.
Please be aware that you may be required to do some ski touring on this off piste holiday. Where possible the lift system will be used to access off piste terrain, however if you need to venture a bit further afield in order to access the best off piste conditions, then your instructor may suggest ski touring. This will all be dependent upon conditions and the guides you have on your trip. If you are part of a large Freshtracks trip, with multiple groups, then there may be the opportunity for one group not to participate in any ski touring for the duration of the trip. If this is the case, please inform your Ski Club rep at the beginning of the trip, and they can assign groups accordingly. Please note that you will not require any prior ski touring experience to participate in this trip.
You’ll spend seven nights on a chalet board basis in one of our two Flaine chalets situated side-by-side up in Hameau de Flaine. Chalet board includes breakfast, afternoon tea and a three course evening meal with wine on five nights. The chalet staff will have 2 nights off, on one night the group will eat at a nearby restaurant – payable locally. On the other night off, the chalet hosts will prepare a meal for the group, and the Ski Club Rep will help to serve this in the evening.
This holiday is on a single occupancy basis. You will therefore be placed in a room on your own for the duration of the trip. If you would prefer to share a room with someone you know, then please contact the Freshtracks office and we will make the relevant arrangements.
Flights are not included but a set transfer is available. The transfer will depart from Geneva airport at 14:30. Please arrive at the airport at least one hour before in order to take the transfer. Please meet your Ski Club Rep at the Jazz Café in the arrivals hall by latest 14:00. They will be wearing their blue Ski Club jacket. The return transfer will arrive back to Geneva airport on the inbound date by 11:30. We recommend you book a return flight that departs at 13:30 or later
Please do not book your flights until this holiday has been confirmed to run. Once the holiday has been confirmed, please send your flight details (flight numbers, arrival and departure time) to the Freshtracks Team via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
At the heart of the Grand Massif, Flaine has fantastic, vast and varied terrain for skiers of all levels. As a resort built because of the majestic mountains and generous dumps of snow, Flaine benefits from one of the best snowfalls across the Alps, with an average of almost six metres a year. With its runs being predominantly north-facing, the resort is renowned for maintaining fantastic snow throughout the season.
The chalets are based up in the colourful Scandinavian-style development, Les Chalets du Hameau, a few minutes drive from the main resort. In Hameau there is a bar/restaurant L'Ancolie which also has a small shop with some local products. There is a free transport to and from the main resort until midnight and in good conditions you can also ski down to the meeting point in the mornings. For more information on Flaine, please visit the Flaine Resort Page.
If you require ski hire, we have a good arrangement with Flaine Super Ski, who stock excellent all terrain skis for our groups. They are adjacent to the main lift station and as a Ski Club member you will get a 20% discount.
If you own your own ski touring equipment, then it may be worth taking this with you on your trip. If you do not own your own kit, then this can normally be easily rented in resort. However, please be aware of the cost of hiring this equipment in resort.
