Pitztal might be one of Austria's smaller and lesser-known resorts, but we believe it is a hidden treasure with untapped potential. It is known for quiet slopes and delivering great snow for day touring and off piste sections. This trip will be focussed on day touring and will include climbing to access the untouched off piste terrain.

Holiday price includes: 7 nights half board in 4* hotel, twin share, return scheduled flights and transfers, 6 days with mountain guides
Lift price information: Six day Hochzeiger lift pass price is €227.

Using lifts to gain height, you’ll ski tour each day with local mountain guides to open up numerous freeride opportunities. You will need a good level of fitness as you will be climbing at altitude. The length of uphill will vary depending on routes and conditions but you should expect up to three hours per day. This trip is aimed at Advanced (Purple) and Expert (Gold) off piste skiers, but if you're unsure of your ski standard please see our Ski Profiles

You'll be staying at the Hotel Sonnblick 4*, a great hotel located in the Pitztal Valley and the ideal base from which to explore the ski touring terrain each day.

This holiday includes both your flights with British Airways to Innsbruck and transfers from the airport. Ski carriage is payable at the airport only and cannot be pre-booked. Your Ski Club Rep will coordinate the coach transfer from Innsbruck airport, so please look out for them in the main arrivals hall; they will be wearing their blue Ski Club jacket. The transfer will take roughly one hour.

If these arrangements are not convenient you may be eligible to organise your own travel and receive a nominal discount from the holiday cost. If you can find alternative flights that coincide with our flight times then it may be possible to meet the group at the arrival airport and take our transfers to resort. Please contact the Freshtracks office on 020 8410 2022 in order to discuss this further.

Pitztal is set in a very high, snowsure valley, that has always provided excellent conditions, even in some testing winters. The Pitztal valley is made up of several smaller resorts nestled below a magnificent glacier. The snow reliability, especially on the glacier and the high altitude touring slopes, is unbeatable. You'll find incredible views by taking the Wildspitzbahn lift which zips you up to the Hinterer Burnnenkogel to an eye-watering 3440m. From there you can enjoy a coffee at the café’s high-altitude sun terrace. For more information, please visit the the Pitztal Resort Guide.

This is an exploration holiday and you will require ski touring kit. If you require ski hire, Intersport Huter is the closest shop to the hotel.
