Nestled at the very top of the Tarentaise valley lies Val d’Isère. This picturesque, high profile resort is particularly popular with our members, and it’s easy to see why. On and off the mountain the resort oozes class, from the new wi-fi equipped gondolas to the slopeside restaurants. Every experience in this iconic resort is one of luxury. However, if you think that means the on-snow experience will be a sedate one then think again. Modern lifts whisk you up to 3,400m where dependable snow cover is waiting for you.
ON SNOW EXPERIENCE
In a brand new location, this Ski Club favourite is taking over Skiworld's The Lodge for it's annual get together in December. This includes six full days off piste instruction and mountain guiding and just as much socialising.
There's a reason more Brits come to Val d'Isère than any other ski resort - it is widely considered one of the world's best resorts in the world, offering that sought after balance of near unbeatable range of on snow terrain coupled with off snow experience and amenities that are hard to match, all nestled within a charming 17th century town.
Visitors return again and again for Val d'Isère's near unrivalled slopes not least of all experts who are attracted by the Olympic and World Cup runs, and more importantly the extent of the lift-served off-piste, which is among the most varied and snowsure in Europe. You don't have to be particularly adventurous to enjoy the resort, confident, mileage-hungry intermediates will come away equally satisfied. This of course, is before you even consider the neighbouring resort of Tignes, together making up the 300km of pistes that form the Espace Killy ski area. With the village sitting at 1850m, and upper slopes reaching as high as 3400m, it can also boast one of the best snow records in the Alps, with seasons stretching from November to May
