Named after legendary backcountry skier Doug Coombes, the Coomback uses an environmentally friendly ‘Bio Tech’ wood core and has a new ‘Snophobic’ top sheet. This means the top surface of the ski repels snow which keeps it lighter and looking cooler! Overall this is a solid ski that feels at home making big turns in chopped up conditions and powder. It’s very easy to use once it is up and running, feeling nimble, floaty and with a predictable turn shape, at slow speeds in crud it requires a bit more energy. This is a great choice for backcountry skiing and would work well for half day touring.

Tester Comments

Mark Jones
A rock solid choice for skiers who are always looking for powder, has some nice features for attaching skins
Roddy Willis
Easy in great snow, needed more effort to initiate the turn at slower speeds in crud
