The Bamboo uses Salomon’s new shock-absorbing system and all-terrain rocker, and has the squarer ‘Intuitive’ tail for more control. The first impression you get is that it has very high levels of grip, in both long and short turns. You can lay it over onto the edge, safe in the knowledge that it will hold, even on the hardest snow. It felt playful and relatively easy to handle in the deeper conditions. However, the longest version we could test was 159, which is pretty short for backcountry. Overall, a grippy, fun ski.
