The Blackeye uses titanium inserts and stepdown sidewalls to transfer all the power into the turn. It also uses rocker with an 82mm waist to make it a strong option in deep conditions. It does a great job of combining the abilities of solid, grippy performance with a soft, accessible character. Particularly in long to medium turns, it loves to go fast, while having really high levels of edge-hold. It also feels quick onto the edge, with a reactive, high-energy character. Moving into more chopped up conditions, the shovel is surprisingly soft, and works really well at making it easy to move into the turn and ride over deep snow and powder. This is a great ski, which performs at a high level while still feeling easy to use.
