The new Hell and Back uses a lighter wood core - reducing its weight by 20% - and an early-rise tip which moves the contact point back to give extra float in deeper snow. That lighter weight is instantly noticeable – even when you’re just carrying the skis while hiking up. It’s worth thinking of buying with skins for extra versatility in the backcountry. Surprisingly, although it’s light, the ski’s also very strong on the edge. It has lots of grip, feels pretty direct, and is ideal for gunning hard. Some testers felt it was almost too physical - but overall a great ski.

Tester Comments

Pete Davison
A traditional, direct-feeling ski. Firm grip on the piste and solid at speed
Anthony Swallow
Smooth flex at speed - felt great on harder snow
