They say

The 800 was a great performer last season and one of the leading skis for Salomon’s all-mountain range. This year sees the continuation of the award-winning construction: a full wood core with sandwich sidewalls and a bamboo layer to give the ski a lively response.

We say

This ski immediately gives you back lots of energy from the edge. Once tilted over, it has masses of grip and feels like it has high limits. It works well in all turn shapes and is a true all-rounder on piste. The rockered nose also makes it easy to adjust and initiate the turn. In deeper snow the width and shape through the shovel is quickly apparent, which makes it easier to handle. On very hard snow in short turns and high speeds it could be stronger, but overall, a great all-mountain choice.

Good edge-grip and performance for both long and short turns. A versatile ski - responsive and precise.

As versatile as a Black and Decker multi tool!
