They say

The Apo brand was originally a snowboard company started by legendary ‘Apocalypse Snow’ rider Regis Rolland. They branched into skis in 2008, and are mainly focused on freestyle and backcountry models. Designed as a ski capable for all mountain skiing as well as in backcountry conditions the Rocko uses a light wood core with a fiberglass wrap.

We say

This is an exceptionally easy ski to use. A forgiving flex and a nimble, playful nature make the Rocko effortless to steer. This is one of those skis that immediately feels fun, the soft flex and tight sidecut make it always reactive and easy underfoot. On the piste it actually grips pretty well and works well when laying out bigger turns. Moving up to higher speeds and in more demanding conditions, that soft, easy character can work against it and the Rocko feels like it needs a stronger construction to give more stability.

Tester Comments

Al Morgan
Easy, easy, easy. A forgiving flex makes it effortless to use and doesn’t punish mistakes.
Mark Jones
A really strong all-rounder, solid on the piste, reliable and floaty in the deep stuff.
