They say

The AR7 is Armadas flagship park ski, but its traditional camber, and firm flex lend it to being able to perform well on the groomed runs.

We say

For a twin tip, with a centrally mounted binding the AR7 performs surprisingly well on the piste, with strong levels of grip. Particularly in long turns it holds a solid edge and feels comfortable arcing out at high speeds. You can definitely feel the lack of rocker having an effect, with full length edge contact through the turn. In shorter turns the mounting point worked against it and it over pivots into the turn, while it also caused problems in deeper conditions where it needed more shovel length and rocker to float up and deal with the snow. Surprisingly, a twin tip that’s stronger on the piste than off it.

Tester Comments

Derek Chandler
Good on piste, particularly in longs, binding mounted too far forward to work well in short turns
James Allen
Set like a park ski, so struggled with all mountain, solid in long piste turns.
