They say

The new Affinity Storm is super lightweight and uses an all mountain rocker, woodcore and stepdown sidewall to get good performance and still have the ability to float and be playful in the pow.

We say

Overall the Affinity got a great response from our test team. It’s a ski that can adapt to many conditions and turn shapes, on the groomed runs it has plenty of bite going into the turn, feeling particularly strong in short arcs. Ultimately the tip will feel quite soft for superfast long turns, but for most mere mortals it is strong grippy and reactive in carved turns. In powder and crud that soft frontal area of the ski works very well and immediately allows the ski to rise up. This is matched up to the wide platform to make it perform exceptionally well in these conditions with great float and the ability to drift and smear with no effort.

Tester Comments

Tessera Swallow
Great ski if you want to open it up and charge in the off piste, also strong and zippy in short turns and bumps.
Rowena Phillips
A decent fatter ski which carved well in the chopped up powder
