They say

The new Rockette uses a twin rocker shape for maximum float in the powder, it matches this up to light weight honeycomb tip and tail for easy redirection.

We say

The light, rockered tip and tail really help make the Rockette easy to use on steeper terrain and tricky situations; it spins on a dime and can make quick direction changes and adjustments to the turn in an instant. This makes it perfect for ripping around in the trees and through variable terrain. Because of its width underfoot it still retains good stability yet still manages to feel surprisingly quick edge to edge in shorter turns. Again, like many of the women’s specific big mountain skis we struggled to get a long enough length to test, and this hampered high speed long turns, but overall this is a great backcountry ski.

Tester Comments

Rowena Phillips
Great for short turns and steep pitches due to the rockered tip and tail. Easy going on short turns, it loves to bounce from edge to edge in powder.
Lynn Sharp
Very easy to use, light, floaty and quick into the turn.
