They say

This is a new ski from Salomon, which reduces weight with a lighter wood core and honeycomb tip, while adding power to the mid section of the ski using the new X-Chassis. This system lays down diagonal carbon reinforcement for added torsional stiffness.

We say

Compared to last year’s Enduro there is a big difference with the X-Drive. The biggest being in terms of weight and quality of ride. It feels much lighter to both carry around and also under the feet, this helps make it easier for short turns, while the ride is significantly smoother at all speeds. On the edge in long turns it fires out grippy turns with ease and feels very comfortable for a mix of turn shapes. In shorter turns the width underfoot is more noticeable and it can feel slower when moving from edge to edge, but it can still punch its way out of the turn. Away from the groomers and into the powder, the light construction and rockered shape make it effortless to steer and adjust. Great ski!

Solid ski that performed well, on the piste it feels punchy and grippy.
