They say

The Shift offers new possibilities in the world of ski touring. With 98mm underfoot and a very long shovel with Light Rocker 12, the Shift is a ski that gives optimum performance off piste.

We say

The Shift is a touch wider underfoot than the rest of the skis we tested in this category, however it does make a big difference in deep powder. They floated up really quickly and felt like they could take some speed in these types of conditions. However the width does make them feel a bit more cumbersome from edge to edge and they lacked the quick, easy agility of a lot of the other touring skis we tested. Overall this is a great ski for deeper conditions, but would be more of a struggle for varied tour snow and terrain.
