They say

Changed for 2017, the Orb gets a new rockered shape which gives a reactive character, which makes it perfect for all mountain action.

We say

The Orb looks really cool and like all the Black Crows we tested, it feels really high quality in its finish and construction. On the piste they feel pretty wide and matched up to the soft flex, they feel less suited to high speed carving. They give out reasonable levels of grip and are easy to use, but wouldn’t suit big hard edge angles on hard snow. In powder and crud away from the piste they feel great, with a lovely ability to drift and adjust through the turn, while the wide platform gives huge float.

Tester Comments

Pete Davison
Soft rockered tip which works well in soft snow. Lacks adaptability and engagement on the piste
Al Morgan
If you want the drifty nature of a freeride ski, but narrower, this is a good choice
