They say

The Ranger 98 is the widest offering in Fischer’s freeride line, and is made with a carbon tip and a light Air Tec Ti core so that it offers lightweight with stability.

We say

The Fischer comes across as a lightweight but strong ski. That strength is quickly apparent on the piste where it works surprisingly well for a freeride ski. In these conditions it’s stiff enough to give really high levels of grip, particularly in longer arcs. When moving into deeper backcountry terrain the rocker and relatively softer nose would get lift quickly, but the narrower platform and stiffer flex through the main body of the ski made it less playful than some of the other skis we tested in this category.

Fischer does piste skis well. Excellent for on piste carving, lightweight but sturdy
Steph Ede
Great for on piste, stiff enough to give good grip, less playful in the powder
