They say

A new Carbon Matrix Lay up gives the Soul 7 extra lateral stiffness to give a more precise ride while retaining the intuitive and easy to ski feel of the original.

We say

This is still a really playful ski in the powder! The shovel and wide platform works really well to ride up and give instant float while the lightweight construction and rockered profile make this an exceptionally easy ski to use. On the piste the new construction definitely makes itself felt with added grip through the main part of the ski underfoot, it feels solid and strong through the middle of the arc. The shovel and tail feel light and help the ski to float and twist although sometimes struggle to match up to the grip that the centre of the ski can provide.
