They say

The most versatile all mountain ski. Take all mountain to a new level with on piste performance and maximum maneuverability.

We say

The Salomon is exceptionally light and easy to use, when initiating the turn it literally takes zero effort. This makes it very user friendly in trickier off piste conditions, where the ease of turning, matched up to a lightweight construction make it such a simple ski to use. Within this category, the 80 felt well suited to short turns, for an all mountain ski it’s quick edge to edge and maintains that ease of use. In long, fast turns it works well enough for most levels of skiers, however on hard snow at high speeds it does start to lose composure and grip.

Tester Comments

Derek Chandler
Nice simple ski for easy slopes and easy skiing, but limited when charging on hard terrain at high speeds
Mark Jones
Light and easy, initiates rotary turns easily. When on the edge lacks engagement through the shovel at speed
