They say

This formidable all terrain ski gains speed due to the addition of two titanal plates over the length of the ski. Its rocker profile and width makes it very efficient in powder and variable snow conditions.

We say

The Orb really was the stand out ski in this category for off piste performance. In variable conditions and powder it’s very easy to use, initiates the turn with no effort and generally feels like a really easy, fun ski to use. The surprising part is that this ease of use then leads into a very high powered performance, it blasts through any conditions with ease and is awesome for big, fast arcs in powder, it really is impossible to fault in any off piste conditions. On the piste it carves out bigger arcs well, but can feel slightly unresponsive in shorter turns. Overall, a great ski, which is definitely more biased towards backcountry use.

Tester Comments

Al Morgan
Strong performer off piste, a real stand out ski. Comes to life on piste but needs to be pushed up to higher speeds.
John Taylor
A great all terrain ski. Easy at slow speed, pivots with the tip rocker and floats through cruddy conditions with ease.
