They say

Confidence comes standard with the Astral 84. As the most versatile ski in the Astral collection, it’s just as comfortable skiing groomers in the morning as shredding the pow in the afternoon.

We say

The new HEX technology in the Astral gives this ski a light, yet stiff forebody of ski that really helps when initiating the turn. The start of the turn takes zero effort and it always feels easy to adjust and make quick changes of direction. Once onto the edge it has a smooth, progressive flex which allows for solid contact with the snow and good edge hold. There are limits on its speed and when pushed hard it will break away and be less stable when really cracking on, in many ways it feels better suited to off piste, where the light and rockered tip help make it easy to maneuver.

Tester Comments

Rowena Phillips
Definitely more comfortable off piste, where it feels easy to initiate the turn.
Eilidh McLeod
Easy to change direction in off piste, long turns on piste feel stable. Ok to cruise around on piste but starts to judder when put under pressure.
