Due to the Coronavirus situation, all Ski Club on snow activities, including Freshtracks holidays, Rep service and Instructor-Led Guiding are now cancelled for the season.
Hi, I have been a rep for over 22 years and have skied/snowboarded in numerous resorts all over the alps. I have lived and worked in Switzerland at times and so lucky to visit many lesser known ski resorts both in winter and summer. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with you and maybe an adventure or two!
Although I started skiing in my twenties, I was already an avid watcher of Ski Sunday and knew the tune off-by-heart whilst still in nappies. Taking the career opportunity to live and work in Switzerland for 8 years further nailed my obsession and having skiied every weekend since arriving, during the season, I soon got to grips with my edges. I gave myself the challenge (and a birthday treat?!) to learn to snowboard in 2005 and have subsequently done my exams on the board. I love the freedom and fluidity on the board and really enjoy leading skiers and encouraging us all to share the piste together and have fun. A few of my favourite resorts I have snowboarded in include: Aspen, Breckenridge, Vail, Whistler, Villars,FilmsLaax, Chamonix, Megeve, Courmayeur, and Banff including Lake Louise. I’ve Heli-skied (on the board) off Panorama with RK Helsinki and I’ve led in Klosters, Davos, Saas Fee and Verbier. I very much look forward to seeing you there for some magic on the snow very soon.
A chance conversation with a friend led to ski lessons in a small resort in Italy ..... So - hooked, I then joined the ski club and became a leader in 1989. I have led in resorts in Europe and the USA. My personal favourite has been Argentiere, where there is pretty well instant access to the off piste, with local bars to enjoy in the evenings.
Living within the downlands of Hampshire, I enjoy road cycling and mountain biking on the many quiet roads, trails and tracks.
Despite a career in ski media, skiing several times a season all over the world, my passion for the sport remains unabated. Upon retiring just over a year ago, the key question was how was I going to continue to feed this hunger, whilst giving something back to the sport. Having worked for the Ski Club for many years, I understand the value of the product and admire it greatly. So for me, there was only one solution- to become a Ski Club of Great Britain Rep! I look forward to meeting you soon and sharing our passion.
