Sunday River is one of the largest and most visited resorts in Maine, as well as managing to offer one of the longest seasons thanks to its impressive snowfall records.
One of the more attractive resorts in the East and is four hours from Boston. It includes a day lodge with plenty of food options, as well as a range of nearby accommodation options.
The terrain is best suited for intermediate cruisers. The slopes spread across eight peaks, being the second largest in Maine after Sugar Loaf. Over 95% of the pistes are covered by snowmaking. The total area adds up to 300 acres with 135 trails, though this is small compared to many US resorts. As is common on the East Coast, freestylers are well catered for, with 35 acres dedicated to six terrain parks.
