There's 54km of slopes available in this quiet corner of Austria, divided neatly in two by a sharp valley traversed by a cable car.
The local slopes above Brand are all blues and reds, set amongst the trees and reaching almost 2000m, providing ideal family-friendly terrain for those looking to develop away from the crowds elsewhere. Over at Bürserberg, the slopes are steeper and there’s a great sense of old-school skiing with slow 2-man chairs and pretty, wooded slopes.
The town itself is quiet and is a great base for families. Off the slopes, there’s a fantastic network of winter walking trails in the valley, plus an extensive set of cross-country trails. Tobogganing is also popular here for families, with two great slopes down – one at Brand and one at Bürserberg.
