What is a Takeover?

All abilities, endless possibilities.

Takeover holidays are for everyone, no matter your age or ability. More skiers mean more ski groups, a wider range of abilities, and even more opportunity to meet like minded people. Whether you want relaxed social skiing, or to spend the week developing your technique on or off piste, the choice is yours.

Following a sell out season last year, this year we’re back and bigger than ever, with two new holidays added to the line up.

What to expect on a Takeover week

1

Included as standard

A minimum of two Reps on all Takeover holidays, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish.

2

Want to progress instead?

Select a Takeover holiday that's running an off-piste or on-piste course, with fully qualified guides or instructors.

3

Every week

Where possible, we'll let you know about any extra events and activities taking place that week, for more socialising, more trying new things, and having a fantastic holiday.

More than just a ski trip

This is where the Takeover holidays earn their name

With so many members under one roof, socialising becomes the main event.

Hotel communal area for Ski Club Takeover holiday

One big group.

With so many members booked into the same hotel, the bar, the lounge and the dining room feel like they belong to the group.

Ski Club members enjoying an evening drink together

Go solo, leave with friends.

Turn up not knowing a soul, and you won't be alone for long. Expect a lot of smiley faces, easy conversation, and the kind of friendships that outlast the week itself.

Group learning off-piste technique with a Ski Club instructor

Sign up for a course, or just ski socially

Sign up for off piste or on piste courses, or join social skiing instead, depending on the week. Whatever you choose, you're still part of the same sociable group each evening.

Group of friends on a Ski Club Takeover holiday together

Friends and partners can holiday together, ski apart

Book together and split off into whichever group suits you best, then reunite for dinner and the evening's social.

In members' words

What Takeover weeks are like

A great week of skiing with a brilliant group. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and provided a fun week with some amazing off piste adventures!

Jon, Tignes Takeover

My first Freshtracks holiday with the Ski Club was an overwhelming success. I would recommend anyone who is considering attending a similar group holiday to give it a try.

George, Bad Hofgastein Takeover

All in all, this was a great holiday. It was well organised and we had a brilliant guide!

Takeover FAQs

What exactly is a Takeover holiday?

The Ski Club books either an entire hotel or a large share of the hotel for the week, and involves six days skiing with a group of the same ability. Many of our Takeover holidays offer additional on piste and off piste courses, while some are purely about the social skiing.

I'm a solo traveller, would I be suitable?

Absolutely. The majority of Freshtracks guests travel solo, 85% of our guests last winter were solo travellers. With a large number of members attending a Takeover, you're guaranteed to be in good company.

Are single rooms available?

Single room availability is shown on each holiday's dates and prices tab. They sell fast, so book soon to avoid disappointment. We can sometimes request extras from the hotel, contact the office to check.

How are the ski groups organised?

Groups are organised by ski profile for all three options. Social skiing groups can be as large as 8, off piste instruction groups up to 6, and on piste instruction groups 7 to 8.

Can I switch between social skiing and instruction during the week?

Your instruction option is booked in advance for the full week, since groups are organised by level ahead of time. If you're unsure, social skiing is a flexible way to try the resort before committing to a course next time.

What's included in the evening socials?

Your Reps will organise the week's social programme, depending on the group’s preference. From après ski drinks to quizzes and fancy dress, the choice is all yours. Sometimes you’ll be joined by members from other Freshtracks holidays running in the same resort at the same time.

Takeover holidays not quite what you're after?

Off-piste, Chalets, Touring and 150+ other holidays across 65 resorts.
