Family Skiing in the Home of Lässig

If you are looking for a ski trip that keeps everyone happy, from tiny snow adventurers to proud parents, the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is the ultimate family destination. Known as the Home of Lässig – think laid-back, good-times mountain culture – this vast winter playground combines skiing, off-slope adventures and Austrian mountain culture.

Magic March & Easter: Kids Ski Free

Planning a spring trip? There’s another reason to consider the Skicircus. During Magic March, longer days and more sunshine make for relaxed days on the slopes, with plenty of opportunities to stop at a mountain hut and enjoy the terrace.

The Easter Bonus offers further savings for families. During the Easter Bonus period, from 20 March to 4 April 2027, children born in 2011 or later ski free when a parent buys a ski pass valid for four days or more. The offer applies across the Ski ALPIN CARD region, which includes 408km of pistes across the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun and Schmittenhöhe Zell am See.

Getting the Kids on Skis

From the very first snowplough to confident carving, the Home of Lässig makes learning to ski easy and exciting. Dedicated practice areas, magic carpets and themed slopes like Leogang’s Leo’s Kinderland or Hinterglemm’s Family Park give kids a safe and playful environment in which to progress. In Fieberbrunn, Timok’s Magic Carpet at the Streuböden mid-station gives little ones a place to practise their first turns before venturing further onto the mountain.

Ski schools operate in every village, with multilingual instruction and lessons tailored to different ages and abilities. In Leogang, families staying at a partner hotel can also look into the Kids on Ski programme, which bundles ski lessons, a lift pass and equipment hire for beginners aged three to five.

Adventures Beyond the Pistes

There are plenty of activities away from the ski slopes. In Fieberbrunn, Timok’s Alpine Coaster follows a 1,160-metre track, with riders controlling their own sled. In Hinterglemm, the Treetop Trail crosses the Golden Gate Bridge, high above the valley. Other options include tobogganing under the stars, ice skating in Saalfelden Leogang and winter hiking. Mountain huts along the way offer a place to stop for hot chocolate or mulled wine.

More than 60 huts and restaurants across the Skicircus serve everything from hearty soups to sweet Kaiserschmarrn. In the villages, there are plenty of family-friendly dining options, too.

For families, the appeal is having so much within easy reach: the thrill of a first solo run, the satisfaction of tackling a bigger mountain, and the fun of trying something completely different once the skis come off. There’s room for everyone to have their own kind of adventure.
