Join us at Chalet Freshtracks and spend the week discovering magnificent on and off-piste terrain with our world-class instructors.
Our off piste instruction weeks in Flaine are without a doubt some of the most popular holidays in our program, as they really do offer something quite special. The winning combination of first class instruction with Diane, Philippe, Raphael & Luc and team and a warm welcome from our chalet staff is the top choice for many of our regular customers who return to Flaine again and again.
Our two chalets are very similar in layout and style and are both located in the colourful Scandinavian-style development, Les Chalets du Hameau, a few minutes drive from the main resort. There are free transport services to and from the main resort until midnight and in good conditions you can also ski down to the meeting point in the mornings.
Each chalet has six bedrooms, with a large open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner with TV and wi-fi. In true Scandinavian style, a sauna comes as a prerequisite in order to help you relax and refresh ready for another day off-piste! There are three twin bedrooms with ensuite and on the top floor, a further three twin rooms with a shared bathroom. These rooms are normally sold for single occupancy at a supplement.
Our fantastic chalet team will be serving up hearty breakfasts, scrumptious afternoon teas and delicious three course evening meals (with one evening dining out and one prepared evening meal in line with our chalet staff days off). And of course, we have chosen a good selection of wines to accompany the food!
The chalets are almost identical in layout – take a look at the floor plan below
At the heart of the Grand Massif, Flaine has fantastic, vast and varied terrain for skiers of all levels. As a resort built because of its majestic mountains and generous dumps of snow, Flaine benefits from one of the best snowfalls across the Alps, with an average of almost six metres a year. With its runs being predominantly north-facing, the resort is renowned for maintaining fantastic snow throughout the season.
Situated in the centre of a snowy bowl, there’s a wealth of off-piste terrain to ski both within the bowl and also over the top of the mountain ridges; in between pistes, tree runs, couloirs, gullies, powder fields and backcountry routes dropping from 2500m down to 700m.
Staying in the Freshtracks chalets is made even better by the epic on-snow experience that we want to give you! After an exploratory warm up day, you’ll be taught, guided, coaxed, tweaked (and entertained!) by some brilliant instructors.
The warm up day is a free ski day (apart from advanced and progression weeks) where you get the chance to explore the resort, test your kit (and your legs!) and make sure you are all set for the days ahead.
Diane Moreau, our head instructor has spent over 30 winter seasons in Flaine she will share with you her love and passion for the mountains of Flaine. Her patient and friendly approach will make you feel as ease off piste. Alongside Diane we have Philippe Clerc, Raphaël Renon and Luc Dumontier- all well known by many members as great teachers who will help you improve your technique whilst having a lot of fun. They have all been living, skiing and teaching in Flaine most of their lives so know every inch like the back of their hand.
The instructors, together with our chalet team all share the same goal of making your skiing holiday in Flaine a unique and special experience and they look forward to welcoming many returning and new faces to Flaine this winter season. Diane will come and visit the chalets during the welcome meeting on arrival day to discuss the week ahead. Between herself and the Rep, you will be allocated into groups.

We are delighted to once again be running our own Ski Club chalet in Chamonix. The area is iconic, inspiring and now offers us a great reason to run a full season’s programme, full of exciting holidays.
We will be hosting classic Freshtracks off piste weeks, exploring the area with our ever popular and highly experienced team of IFMGA guides. There will be back country explorations and touring skills for those that want to venture a bit further away from it all, all mountain instruction to improve skills both on and off piste – and new this year a ‘Going for Gold’ week for ambitious and advanced skiers that want to push themselves and take their skiing to the next level.
The chalet itself is extremely well situated in Chamonix centre – a short walk from the main pedestrian area and the Brévent lifts – accommodating up to 12 people in six ensuite bedrooms.

The ground floor features a spacious living and dining area, along with a movie room and a ski and equipment locker with boot heaters for your convenience.
The upper levels comprise two more floors, housing six tastefully decorated bedrooms, each equipped with its own en-suite bathroom. All rooms face south and provide captivating views of the magnificent Mont-Blanc.
This chalet is truly one-of-a-kind, as it is among the original chalets constructed during Chamonix’s initial establishment. With a history spanning 200 years, the building exudes charm with its original sweeping staircase, lofty ceilings, and dark oak floors.
Despite its historic allure, the chalet seamlessly combines traditional character with modern amenities. Enjoy uninterrupted Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the premises, a warm and welcoming ambiance, and an incredible outdoor hot tub that can take eight people. From this vantage point, you can revel in the breathtaking vistas of the majestic Mont Blanc and the iconic Aiguilles du Chamonix.
Chamonix is perhaps the world’s most famous off piste destination. With its reputation as a freeride mecca, Chamonix attracts mountain guides and backcountry addicts from around the globe, both to visit and to settle. It’s an area that’s impossible to get bored of, with new challenges each day from powder bowls to demanding couloirs and impressive glacial routes in dramatic scenery.
And the best way to experience this legendary terrain?
With Freshtracks of course!
Our holidays offer:
The Chamonix lift system consists of several distinct and very different ski areas high above a steep-sided valley where the town and its villages are located. From one day to the next you can explore the resort’s different ski areas: Brévent & Flégère, Les Grands Montets, Le Tour & Vallorcine (Domaine de Balme), L’Aiguille du Midi / La Vallée Blanche and Les Houches. And if that wasn’t enough, the Chamonix Mont-Blanc lift pass extends over to Courmayeur and even St Gervais and Megeve!
All these different areas could prove a challenge if it wasn’t for our minibus to ferry you around. So no need to check bus times and walk to and from stops and lifts – we’ll collect you from the chalet door and take you straight to whichever area you’re skiing that day. These adventure weeks will explore the furthest reaches of the ski areas in the Chamonix Mont-Blanc valley. The first day will be a free ski day (destination and lunch stop organised by the Leader) to acclimatise you to the surroundings, check kit and get your legs geared up for the challenges ahead. The mountain guides we work with in Chamonix are second to none – each has their own style and specialities and all are true experts on the area.
We’ve been running off piste holidays in Chamonix for years, so having our own chalet for the whole season now gives us the chance to develop our holidays here and offer more experiences to more members. We have five different holiday types that cater for our different skier profiles. Starting off with our new All Mountain Development weeks – with intensive coaching for those that want to learn and improve across the full gamut of terrain and techniques – through to the more focused off piste and ski touring weeks.
All Mountain Development Weekend (New!)
Aimed at good all-round skiers looking to really improve their technique across the whole mountain, this weekend trip will cover anything from carving and bumps through to improving your technique off piste. Over three days of tuition, you’ll receive all the technical points, skills and confidence to help you progress both on and off the piste.
Women’s Off Piste & Touring Skills (New!)
Following the success of our Flaine women-only week, we’ve decided to expand the programme to Chamonix. Designed for women at a Silver–Purple off piste level, it’s the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded women, build confidence and develop your off piste skills further with five days of guiding, and one day social skiing.
Under 35 Off Piste Development Week (New!)
For the first time, we’re bringing an Under-35 week to Chamonix. This All Mountain holiday combines three days of expert instruction with three days of social skiing alongside your Ski Club Rep. This is a great opportunity to meet other passionate skiers and improve your skills in a lively resort.
Going for Gold: For ambitious advanced skiers looking to push themselves up a notch to expert and gain that coveted Gold profile! A full on week exploring the whole area with plenty of coaching and inspiration along the way to help you reach your goals. These weeks will be run by Andy Jerram ISIA and Kathy Murphy IFMGA both key coaches on the reps courses each December.
Off Piste Adventure: For experienced off piste skiers looking to get more miles under their feet and experience all that this incredible area has to offer. The Off Piste Adventure weeks all run to the same formula – a warm up/free ski day on Sunday followed by five days with mountain guides in maximum groups sizes of six. Regulars will recognise most of the names of our mountain guides running these weeks (and the backcountry weeks) as we have worked with all of these guides for many years and people keep returning for more. All hold the highest level of professional qualification and offer the perfect mix of safety, knowledge and personality.
Beginners Backcountry and Touring Skills : For adventurous off piste skiers looking for an introduction to backcountry skills, touring equipment and techniques. Avalanche awareness, snow structure, transceiver use and navigation are just some of the many aspects of mountain craft that will be covered. Up to 3 hours a day of ski touring can be expected each day.
Chamonix Backcountry Exploration: For experienced off piste skiers with some ski touring experience that are looking to get further off the beaten track and explore everything that Chamonix and the surrounding areas has on offer. Up to 4 hours a day of ski touring can be expected each day.
Travel is not included with this holiday, allowing you the flexibility to choose the most convenient travel arrangements for you.
Check‑in is between 16:30 and 18:30, as your resort representative will be hosting a welcome meeting on the first evening before dinner. If you are planning on driving to resort, please note there is no parking at the chalet but there are a limited number of open ‘on street’ places to park a short distance away. There are also a number of multi storey and underground car parks in central Chamonix such as Parking St Michel and Parking du Brevant, charging around €15 per day.

We have worked with Concept Pro Ski in Chamonix for many years. They have an excellent range of the newest and most suitable skis for our courses and give all our members a 20% discount in resort. You can pre book your equipment via this link and payment is made in resort, if you need to change your kit part way through your week, this can also be done.
You can also hire back packs with a shovel (metal) and probe if required. We also provide fully charged transceivers for anyone who needs one. All of our Off Piste trips require you to bring your own shovel, probe and suitable back pack – please make sure your shovels have a metal handle and NOT plastic.
Prices for the 26/27 season are TBC.

Single rooms availability will be shown in the “View Dates & Prices” tab on each holiday page, located under the holiday name.
If single rooms are available, this will be clearly stated there. If no single room option is listed, unfortunately this means they have already sold out. We recommend booking early, as single rooms are often the first to be reserved.
